Bryton is a master planned community in Huntersville, NC with family friendly amenities such as grocery stores, retail shops, dining, entertainment and major commuting routes. In a robust collaboration with developers, Tim Johnson Landscaping, Inc. was tasked with a comprehensive landscape overhaul for the Bryton Parkway and development on the pocket parks, Amenity Center, and common space. This extensive project spanned over three years and involved detailed soil preparation, intricate irrigation systems, meticulous plant installation, and vast sod laying.

Challenges Faced

Inheriting Unfinished Work

Taking over from an another contractor, we encountered a project that was behind schedule and lacking the essential groundwork. One of our first tasks was to decode the existing irrigation setup without any handed-over information, which required a lot of investigation and creative problem-solving from our team.

Complex Project Phasing

The phased nature of the project necessitated multiple mobilizations, which posed logistical challenges. Each phase demanded a fresh setup and thorough planning to ensure continuity and efficiency in our work, ensuring that each part of the project received the attention it deserved at the right time.

Compromised Soil Conditions

The site’s history as a former quarry presented us with poor soil conditions, complicating our landscaping efforts. This required significant soil amendment and preparation to create a viable foundation for plant and sod installation, ensuring sustainable growth and landscape stability.
